My wife has suffered non-stop for most of her life. She was abused as a child, both her mother and father are the epitome of awful human beings, and her suffering has only continued as an adult. About 5 years ago she developed something called Cushing's Disease (for which there is no cure). It's eroded her life in every way imaginable. She can no longer workout any more as it raises cortisol levels and she's gone from fit and in shape to gaining a bunch of weight. She can hardly sleep anymore, she cannot stomach 90% of food anymore, she's developed osteoporosis as a result, and she lives in contaminated.
